I have an older Finch feeder that needed replacing, so I used this opportunity to try out modeling the parts in Fusion 360.
I measured the three pieces in the original feeder (base, lid, and baffle) then modeled them in Fusion 360, then saved tp STL files.
Printing:
Printed the base and lid using normal quality settings and the baffle in High quality settings used in the Snapmaker 2.0 printer.
The base can be printed without supports if desired, but the lid and baffle both need supports.
I used a 2-1/2" outside diamter clear plastic tube for the holder portion, which the printed pieces fit into or onto.
For metric values, the inside diameter is 600mm (60cm) and the outside diameter is 630mm (63cm).
The last part was transferring the perch rods from the old tube to the new tube.
I used a hand drill with the appropriate sized bit to drill thru both sides so the rods would fit tight when inserted.
I also drilled small feeder holes for the birds to get the seed inside, just above each perch hole.
I reused the hanger from the old lid, plus added extra holes in the baffle to allow better drainage if water go into the tube from rain.
I'm very happy with the results and fit of these pieces to the tube and was able to put it the immediate use, filling it with finch food and hanging right up for the hungry finches in my area.
