***WORK IN PROGRESS
All parts work, some need fiddling.
I'm currently revising each piece that is in question:
Front Clasp (Tolerances are bad, if you print it - clasp from bottom to top)
Top Half (This is a very difficult print, i'm trying to fix this for higher success.)
Aka the T.U.S.H. - CAN V1
Totally Useless...
Totally Unnecessary...
Totally Uber Spool Holder - Canister. V.1
Fits spools up too 75mm thick & 210mm wide (diameter)
Provides temperature, humidity & weight in grams.
Leds:
Red = 0-250g left
Yellow = 250-500g left
Green = 500-750g left
Blue = 750-1000g left
Pulsing = Humidity Alert
0.4 Nozzle; 0.3mm Layer Height; 3 Shells
10%infil for the two frames.
25%infil for roller, clasps & hinges.
BOM:
Filament/Plastic
~900g of your choice of material PLA, ABS or PETG - Frame/Clasps/Roller
~100g of flexible TPU/TPE - Seal
Acrylic or any clear plastic sheet to cut for windows.
Hot Glue - Use on windows.
Hardware
32x M3 Bolts / 24x M3 Nuts
2x M5 Bolts
2x M4 Bolts
1x 8mm Threaded Rod (If using hinges, double clasp it if you don't have one)
2x 10mm Threaded Bowden Coupler
1x Eva-Dry 333 or Desiccant Packets
Electronics
1x Arduino UNO
1x DHT11 - Temperature & Humidity Sensor
1x HX711 & 1x LoadCell - Weight Sensor & Amplifier (You need a 5kg loadcell that is a specific dimension, or you will have to design an adapter) - 80x13x13 with M5 Threads for mounting.
1x 16X2 1602A LCD
4x WS2812B - Addressable LEDs (You can totally skip these, its a bit of extra time/work/money)
GITHUB PAGE TO CODE COMING SOON:
Soon.
Lets talk accuracy and functionality for a second here. I'm not a professional engineer or programmer, you might scratch your head at some design and code decisions I've made, its to be expected. This project was mainly for me to utilize parts I had laying around, to learn CAD & CODE, and give back to the amazing open source community (try to give back at least). Temp&Humidity are as accurate as the DHT11 module allows. If you take your time with the wiring/soldering, and HX711 calibration, you should be able to get a very good weight reading. How off? can't be sure, I want think not to much. Maybe about ~1-2.5 grams?. Assuming you get a decent loadcell/hx711. If you rush and don't have solid connection you may get noise in which case your error will be higher but should be still within ~10g. Does it keep the moisture out? It's too early to say, as I've only just printed it. Obviously its not going to be as good as a airtight bag, but it should be better then leaving it out. Again, this was more for the total package then for specializing in keeping moisture out.
Things I'll try to work on:
Windowless version.
Platform compatible to many different load cells.
Segmented parts for smaller printers.
Special Thanks to a lot of people who've helped me on this project, and a big thank you as well to the open source community!
