A 55-meter ship designed to conduct maritime patrols in contiguous zones and support security missions by larger patrol vessels in grey zones. Among its primary roles are to conduct drug and illegal trafficking interdiction, customs enforcement, and search and rescue. It has a compliment of 24 crew plus a room for two VBSS teams. The ship is armed with a stabilized SMASH 30mm autocannon, four remotely-operated 12.7mm machine guns, and a Mk 1 Non-Lethal Weapons Launcher. A launch and recovery stern ramp allows the deployment of a RHIB underway for interdiction and VBSS operations. It is equipped with a LIDAR to acquire targets with higher accuracy, a heli-winch pad allows vertical replenishment and air transport of critically injured persons aboard. For its SAR missions, it has a holding area for 30 survivors with a separate infirmary and two decontamination chambers. The ship has fin stabilizers and passive stabilization tanks to reduce roll in higher sea states.
