This is a different version of the factorio belt belt buckle. This design I dont think is quite as strong but should keep the locking mechanism contained.
I used a small 1.5mm metal rod as the bar but just a piece of filiment would work
There is also a small bridging piece that can be used instead of the rod
Make sure the wedge piece is under the flat side of the buckle. put the 2 wings then carefully super glue the middle plate down trapping the runners then place the wedge and super glue it down.
