This is a snap on part which allows the use of non-blinking, battery, LED lights (normally used for balloons or paper lanterns) to be attached onto the PRUSA RC3 face shield. The lights can be turned on before or after they are installed into the part.
The front of the part is first slid over the top of the face shield, then snapped onto the same two mounting points used by the plastic shield. Expect approximately 4 hours of use before the LEDs start to dim.
Using PLA filament will allow some flex in the finished product to allow it to snap into place.
NOTE: I changed this prototype version 2 to fit the lights. It may take some pressure to insert the lights into the holes. Remove the paper that enable the battery before installing. Once in, you can turn clockwise to turn on the LED or counter clockwise to turn off. This version also has thicker walls to prevent cracking of the device during installation.
I still found that I can use PLA for material. There is an anchoring hole to secure the LED to the part if needed if the LED is too loose. Also use the hole as a guide when installing the LEDs or to help remove them to replace the batteries.
NOTE: Prototype used white LEDs for test purposes, final product does not need wires.
NOTE: I printed this part using a PRUSA MK3/S printer without issues.
