Hello and thank you for taking a look at the face shield design, FSP-R4 and FSP-R7 (R7 is a one piece design). I originally designed these to be printed on a compact FDM 3d printer.
The shield itself is made of 5 mill transparency film. Note, I used a standard 3 hole punch for the outside corners. I then mounted the film to the frame of the face shield and marked the two mount tabs in the center. I then used this completed transparency as a template for additional film. Once you have the transparency film template, remove one of the outside punches on a 3 hole punch, and adjust the center punch so it lines up with the hole of your template. Insert multiple film in the hole puncher, this will give you two holes where needed, then flip the film along the short side and punch the other side. This dramatically helps to speed up the hole punching process.
I have had some snap hooks break upon assembly, this started when I installed a new roll of filament. Not sure why some of them stated to break so I decided to slightly increase the length of the snap hook without it affecting the security of the two halves. I also included a part named, "FSP-R4-Center Bar Fastening Clip" if you do break a snap hook during assembly. Two clips only took 3 minutes to print.
This design is not validated. I'm just trying to help medical professionals on the front lines.
Stay safe and stay healthy.
Miguel
