I designed this model F1 car in 2011 for a F1 in Schools competition. I learned a lot from this project. This model actually won the fastest car in competition, at least for the Western Cape of South Africa. It never competed anywhere else.
How it works: The car is placed in a shute with a guide wire running along its underside. A CO2 canister is inserted into the rear of the car and punctured which propels the car forward.
NOTE: The body of the car was originally CNC'd and only the aerofoil was 3D printed using a resin-powder-bed-printer.
