I was ready to use one of Thingiverse's offerings for getting the flash card slot extended up to the top of the frame. However, when I received the card reader and attached ribbon cable from eBay, it was a much bigger reader than anticipated.
Luckily I had spare SD card adapters to make it useful. In fact, it's a blessing in disguise using the larger, more substantial and tactile package as the transport between laptop and printer.
The challenge that remained was to create an original minimal bracket to firmly fix the 50x35x10mm reader to the top of the printer. Here it is, designed to use the existing top LHS structural screw - the top RHS screw holds my original minimal Anet A8 tool card (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4072997).
