Name: Coastal Redwood Scientific: Sequoia sempervirens About this Package: This package contains only a single model of a plant in good health and fully mature. This package is intended for the budget conscious buying in need of only a single version of the plant. This same species can also be found in 12 seperate variations containing various models representing different stages of maturity, health, LOD and other details; look for them in the EVERYPlant store. The exact plant variation in this single package is unique and cannot be found in any of the other package. Habitat: Within it's range, this tree is found growing in coastal mountainous regions where precipitation from the incoming moisture off the ocean helps water it. The tallest and oldest trees are found in deep valleys and gullies, where year-round streams can flow and fog drip is regular. Range: This tree occupies a narrow strip of land approximately 750 km in length along the Pacific coast of North America; the most southerly grove is in Monterey County, California, and the most northerly groves are in extreme southwestern Oregon. Notes: An evergreen, long-lived (1,800+ years) tree. It is the tallest living tree on Earth, reaching in excess of 115m, taller than the Giant Redwood. These trees are also among the oldest living things. It is one of the most valuable species in the lumber industry. Fossil records show that it was once much more extensively distributed. Included in this Package: 1 model only of a mature, healthy plant. Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for seperate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some system and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures are also available and may be downloaded alongside the various model formats. Different texture sizes can simply be swapped in or out by copying the Maps sub-folder; no need to manipulate the materials in your editor. Please use whichever best suites your system and needs.
