I never finished this design, but Jaytee has one which works, use his:
masterspool adaptor for empty eSun 1kg spools by JAYTEEAU
I love the idea of RichRap's MasterSpool but I don't really want to print one when I already have all these empty eSun spools lying around. They have two bolts and come apart into two pieces easily.
Measuring and comparing, the eSun spool has a smaller ID and a wider inner width, so making an adaptor to turn an eSun spool into a MasterSpool is definitely possible.
This is an early prototype of the shape which should turn an eSun spool into a MasterSpool. To complete this model, you'd need to add slots for the cable ties, the slot for the inner filament "tail", and make sure the outer holes line up.
The idea is to print two of these, one for each side of the eSun spool, and then bolt the spool back together with the MasterSpool refill inside.
I'm sure you could redesign the outer holes to use an angle instead of a circle, to use even less filament and line up better.
OpenSCAD source is provided if you'd like to finish this concept off.
