Epicycloid1 by bbinnard

This small bowl is made from a curve called an epicycle. It is not a circular arc or part of an ellipse, but rather the curve made by a point on a circle as it revolves around another circle. To make this shape I stacked up 10 of these curves vertically used them as control curves for a Loft surface. Then I thickened the sides and bottom to make the finished geometry.
This part printed in a little over 9 hours using a print speed of 90 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm.
