This shield does multiple things:
• Blocks the air flow away from the nozzle when printing with filaments such as ABS or ASA.
• Deflects the air over the heat block so it will heat up faster. You may need to retune the hotend PID.
• Diverts and channels most of the air towards the heatsink fins and a little air towards the BLTouch to keep it cool.
Hardware
• (2) M3x12mm socket cap screws
Versions
• There are 3 versions; the regular one (pictured), one with a .5mm gap around the heat block, and one with a 1mm gar around the heat block. Each of these has a normal and a supports included version.
• The supports version is the preferred version to print as it will require no supports.
• The normal version is supplied if you want to remix it or have issues with my supports.
Installation Notes
• Temporarily remove the parts fan duct to install this.
• You do not need to remove the BLTouch. This will slide up behind it.
• Replace two screws on the left of the fan.
• Do not replace the bottom right fan bolt as the opening in the duct is meant to slip over the head of stock bolt behind the BLTouch.
• This part sits right up on the heat block, so print it with ASA. If need be, print the 1mm gap version in PETG, then use the part so that you can immediately print this in ASA (this is what I did).
