This is part of Ender 5 upgrade series, where the goal is to have dual extrusion and heated chamber. Print it, modify it or suggest me some improvements, thank you!
The requirement was that the upgrade must be able to enable high temperature printing with no warping (ASA, ABS, PC, PP).
This thing has the original Solidworks Assembly file, where you can also find the ender 5 carriage, both hotends, and some previous versions of the desing. The assemly was simulated with CFD and temperature analysis, to be able to withstand at least 260°C on the hotend, with the air intake temperature of 35°C (with lower intake T, higher hotend T could be achieved).
To tackle the problem of cooling down the hotend in a heated chamber, the cool air has to be delivered to the hotends. Furthermore, all the wires and both bowden tubes that connect to the hotends are routed through the air hose. Consequently, this solves the problem of soft filament in the bowden tube, that was observed to appear in some heated chamber testing. The filament in the bowden tube was heated to the ambient temperature of the heated chamber, which caused the filament to become soft, and the printing was almost inhibited.
You will also need:
4x M3 20mm bolt (preferably hexagon head)
2x M3 10mm bolt (no matter what head)
4x M3 nut
1.5m high-temperaure resistant 40mm hose with steel spring (like in kitchen vent exhaust)
