This is a remix of the filament guide by Holspeed, but this one has been modified to not need any additional hardware such as a bearing or bolt and nut.
It uses a 3D printed pin with a press-on cap that fits the wheel directly without spacers. I also made other minor tweaks such as making the wheel slightly thicker so it fits in the fork tightly without the spacers.
If you move your spool holder all the way to the left of your top crossbar (see photos at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4055309), the filament path is straight to this wheel guide and nothing else is needed, keeping your Ender 3 footprint to the minimum.
The STL file is setup with all 4 parts needed to print at once. I printed it in PLA with decent precision of .16 layer, and it fits my Ender 3 Pro perfectly. The hole through the forks for the pin has been sized to fit tightly without any support, if you can print vertical holes perfectly round you may find the pin slightly loose.
I also uploaded my sketchup file, as Holspeed was kind enough to do the same so I could modify the design.
