In the midst of one of the most unique landscapes of the region adehesados ​​Sierra de Montánchez and Tamuja we find this unique copy of "Quercus rotundifolia," traditionally considered the largest and oldest in the world. Located in the municipality of Zarza de Montánchez, the grandeur of its size and striking derives its importance, since the dimensions of the oak are praiseworthy: it has a height of 16.40 meters, the diameter of the glass is 26 meters, and as the perimeter of its trunk is 7.76 meters at chest height and 9.4 meters at the base. "La Encina Terrona" lived between 700 and 800 years, being witness and part of the history of the area. On the road that runs in the vicinity, traditionally called "El Camino Real", rode the Knights of the Order of Santiago towards the reconquest of Montánchez. This is a gem of nature, symbol of our region, and that deserves our respect and admiration.
