A custom case for a mechanical keyboard, designed to be 3d printed. I designed this in the spirit of the popular "Alice" layout after seeing the Prime_E by holtenc or primekb.com.
I wanted to recreate the layout of my Zlant, but in an "ergo" form factor.
I named it Emma after my wife(not her real name, just a nickname) because she was my inspiration and was very encouraging in my quest to try something new.
The case has a 6degree angle to it.
This was my first real cad design/work(besides the macropad in my profile) so sorry if it sucks or you hate it :)
Files detail: Full case, no splitting(if your 3d printer is big enough)
Left/Right side with rod hole: This is how I had the case printed. The rod holes were cut out to give the case more rigidity. Rods were placed in the holes with a small amount of epoxy and then the halves were joined with epoxy.
Left/Right side with no rod holes: Left and right sides with out the rod holes if you wanted to just affix them together.
Couple of items to note: There should be plenty of room to handwire this(that's how I built mine).
The inside walls are a little close to the switch cutouts. This can make it difficult to get keycaps off, sorry about that, but the way I designed it the walls won't just "push/pull" back the millimeter or so needed to make more room. If you really want to print this and thats a bummer, let me know and I can take the time to fix it :)
The inside wall above the Q key is noticeably higher than the rest. Whoops, missed that while editing the initial .svg for the plate file and never fixed it. Same kind of issue as above item.
You may have issues printing the "emma" characters. If you want that filled in(I don't blame you, it was a very personal design choice specific to me) and cant be bothered, let me know and I can do it.
Stabilizers may not fit very well. You may have to cut some additional space for them(I chose not use a stabilizer in my build.)
