El Gordo - The Ender 3 Direct Drive Bondtech BMG extruder mount for Hero Gen5.
Please read before printing.
After complaining about the unstable DD mounts for the Hero Gen5 I decided to make my own. If I might say myself, It's really sturdy mount taking into account that PETG is quite flexible. One day I might integrate it with the Hero Gen5 gantry plate for even more rigidty.
Designed specifically for the Creality direct drive mount gantry plate together with the Hero Gen5 setup.
Unlike the Hero Gen 5 mounts it must meet a few criteria.
1) Easily printed without support
2) No hard to hold nuts that falls out during assembly
3) Stable, minimum flex. Demasiado gordo.
Required hardware:
4 x M3 square nuts
2 x M3x35 mm
2 x M3x15 mm
Bondtech or clone BMG Extruder.
Optional 3 x M3x40 mm BMG bolts if cable support is used.
Easy to mount. Print the parts, clean edges and holes. Mount sqaure nuts and take care that the nuts are in the right place. I have put holes on opposite sides so that you can adjust the location. Bolt it up and be done.
When slicing, I put a few manual minimal supports for the larger holes. It's not needed but since it's so easy in Prusa slicer, I did.
