The Einscan-S is one of the 1st 3D capture devices which work well enough for capturing tooling and machine parts that actually costs less then $4000. However, it's not perfect. The software is a bit too simple and is missing some pretty important things. For example when you select something from a scan that you want to delete, once selected you cannot deselect. There's a lot more. However, one thing that they did which was REALLY bad was they designed it with screw sizes that do not fit for tripod mounts. As such, you have to use their optional tripod which is not all that good.
I got a real tripod, then made the fitting for it in CAD. I made a hole in it for the size screw under the Camera/projector unit. Then I took it a bit further so a tool was not needed. Using the Einscan-S I scanned/captured the top of the stand that it comes with. Then using 3D-Coat I added what I captured to the mount I made in CAD. I've included both versions. Both mounts work in this kind of tripod:https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Tripod-Monopod-Camera-Aluminum/dp/B00ORH1PGA/ref=sr_1_16?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1475637091&sr=1-16&keywords=tripod
There are other tripods like this out there, this is only one example.
For more details about this and more mounts for the Einscan-S that i am considering as well as lots of stuff about using the Einscan-S and other kinds of 3D capture...
