This is a magnetic base to make whoop race gates. It is designed to accept the 3/8 inch (9.5mm) diameter 1/16 inch (1.5mm) thick ring magnets that are easy to find at most hardware stores (I got mine at Home Depot). It uses a loop of 1.75mm filament as the gate. Mine are about 200mm in diameter and I am able to hit them fairly easily The mounts are only 20mm in diameter and 4mm thick and light enough that they will stick to the drywall screws under the paint on most walls as well as the steel outside corner molding used in many buildings. I printed mine out of TPU for better grip to keep from sliding down the wall however it would likely work in any other plastic although you may need to chase the hole with a drill bit as it will likely be a tight fit. I used E6000 to glue the magnets into the base as it has a consistency similar to the TPU when dry. When printed with the magnet hole facing up it should not need any support as the hole through the middle should be easily bridgeable by most printers. Keeping the infill low will make for a lighter part that will hold to the wall easier. I have had no issues getting these to stick to the drywall screws in my apartment or the metal door frames. I am able to see the filament loop in my analog goggles with minimal issues. Hitting a gate loop will knock if off of a drywall screw but not off of the metal door frames. I recommend using something like ABS, PETG, or nylon for the loop as PLA will get very brittle over time.
