It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the CNC Machine
Making sure your bits and clamps are clear
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With pesky wing nuts and that claptrap used to secure
How is this the best design, y'all?
It's the hap-happiest season of all
This is way too complicated
For doing something so simple
Seriously, how have we accepted
Universally that this makes it stay?
This has the potential to ruin
Christmases in so many ways
It's the most wonderful time of the year
We need a better contraption
A different adaption
with a nifty worm gear
It's the most wonderful time of the year
You'll use .2 resolution
For this wingnut absolution
Use 100% infill
To make it strong
It won't take long
This Christmas a functional mill!
It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much engraving
It is labor saving
When you want to create!
It's the most wonderful time
Yes the most wonderful time
Oh the most wonderful time
Of the year
[OK, so this is designed to fit into your Sainsmart 3018 slotted bed, so that if you do need to clamp it down using those goofy wingnuts and tabs, you only have to do once (providing your pieces fit in this clamp). It has some ports on the side meant to accomodate those tabs. Also, it's designed to be a snug fit. so you may need to sand the posts down slightly. Finally, screw and unscrew to loosen up the threads. Have fun and if you're in the holiday spirit, leave a tip!:)]
*Edit 1/1/20: Thanks for the feedback thus far. I've added little feet to the ends to help deal with the torque associated with the rods on the wood. Enjoy!
*Edit 1/2/20: I've uploaded a slightly smaller threaded rod to loosed up the fit. I'll print it and may delete the original "Part5" rod if it's better.
