I designed this Knockout brass mod simply because I don't have the skill to cut a "breech-loading" type brass tube (whatever you call it), and I don't want to buy an expansive kit online. If you are just like me, this is for you!
This is my first ever design so please give feedback on the results and I'll try my best to improve. Share your build too!
*MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK
WHAT YOU NEED:
Nerf Rival Knockout
A 17/32 brass tube that is longer than 7.5 cm (depend on if you wanna attach anything)
Superglue, electric tape or plumber's tape
PREPARATION (of Knockout blaster):
Remove air restrictor and both sides of the little "stop" on the Knockout barrel that stops it from moving all the way out till the end. (see my picture)
MODIFICATION:
Use tape and superglue to fix the pushrod into the air restrictor hole.
Insert the brass tube into the tube adaptor. The flat side is to the front and the ramp side is for loading darts. At the ramp side, the brass should be exactly at the narrower end of the ramp in order to load properly. Use tape or superglue if there is any gap.
Insert the brass+tube adapter assembly into the Knockout barrel from the front side (because the front side is wider). ATTENTION: the ramp end should not go over the "notch ring" on the loading side of the barrel, otherwise it would hit the seal. I made the dimension right so the "flat end" of the tube adapter should align with the front end of the Knockout barrel, but double-check the ramp side just to make sure! Use tape and superglue to fix any gap.
TO LOAD:
Open the Knockout breech and make sure it opens wide.
Push in one short-dart and insert it halfway into the brass tube (use the ramp as a guide).
Close the Knockout breech and the dart will be pushed fully into the brass tube by the pushrod. NOW READY TO FIRE!
