Eastfield Stadium. Home of Sampton Town of Division 3. Sampton Town moved to the Eastfield Stadium after promotion to the 1st division in 1959 due to the site constraints at Willow Bank. At the Eastfield Stadium Town not only won the Championship 7 times 1961, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1969, 1970, 1973 and the Cup 4 times 1963, 1964, 1967, 1971 also got to the European Cup Semi Finals twice 1965, 1966. Since relegation from the top division in 1981 the team had slumped into the 4th Division by 1987 and since the demise of greyhound racing (1977) and speedway (1984) the stadium itself has fallen so far into disrepair during the 1989/90 season only the Main Stand seating remained in use, though the average crowds of 4265 were easily accomodated there. In 1992 the club approached local construction company Buildsafe for some sponsorship. Not only did the company sponsor the clubs kit but also refitted an seated the East enclosure and repaired part of the North Terrace after the play-off final win in 1993. The south terrace has remained closed since 1985.
