Eleanor used SculptGL to mix together the mesh of a lion cub & an eagle. This was made as part of the Prototype Camp at FACT Liverpool, October 2017. The young people were responding to the Designing Desire exhibition and the installation ‘She Who Sees the Unknown’, a reading room featuring images & text from middle eastern mythologies around Jiin's.
“The jinniya (female jinn) on which Allahyari’s work for Designing Desire is focused, Aeisheh Ghediseh (or Aisha) is said to create a crack on the male body as a sexual and erotic way to transform him into another being, forcing him to act as a conduit between worlds. When she possesses a man she does not completely take over the new host but opens him to a storm of incoming jnun and jinns and sorcerous particles of all kinds; making the man a gate for new demons, for sweeping cosmic data. This is why she is feared. And she never leaves — she always resides in the man to guarantee his total openness, which is not always pleasant.“
