Pivoting sawdust deflector, dust cap, and dust collection hose adapters for the factory blade guard. Reduces the blast of sawdust out of the front of the guard during cutting operations.
Fits the factory guard of vintage Sears Craftsman model 113 contractor-style 10" table saws such as the 113.298142, 113.298032, and 113.298240. Dust hose adapter fits 2.5" Shop-Vac style hoses.
Use adhesive to attach the flange to the horizontal dust hose adapter. The dust cap and flanges plug (friction fit) into the rectangular opening on the upper front portion of the blade guard.
Dust hose adapters have an airflow control to allow the deflector to open when the guard is raised.
For the vertical assembly, use aluminum rivets and washers to fasten adapter to flange. As there is limited space for a rivet tool, I clamped the tail of the rivet in a vise and expanded the head with a nail-setting punch, periodically making sure that the assembly can still rotate. Rotate the cylindrical portion up to 90 degrees to increase or reduce airflow.
For the horizontal hose assembly, run a bolt through the hole in the flow control and adapter. Use washers and nylon-insert locknuts as appropriate so that you can rotate the flow control inside the hose adapter assembly to regulate flow.
The setup still needs easily-removable clips to attach and support the hose to the guard arm, and possibly a separate support arm or ceiling support to hold the weight of the hose.
