Instantly recognizable due to its unusual Gothic/medieval design, Duncan House was built by City Motors in 1934 as their new Ford showroom. The style of architecture, popular in New York, was mostly used for skyscrapers which has lead to this building, which reaches only a mere 3 stories, to be dubbed the 'worlds shortest skyscraper'. The medieval theme continues down the building's main corridor and onto the street facing side of the storage and office extensions on the back. The building continued to serve the automobile industry until the 1970s when it was converted into an office block. Today the building hosts numerous shops and offices including a fitness center, H & R Block and a hairdressing salon. Unfortunately due to the poor terrain on Google Earth, some of the parking lot and associated terrace had to be constructed as part of this model otherwise the building would look out-of-place and inaccurate with entrance-ways dropping 3 meters to the ground below.
