This is a type of INDEPENDENT suspension. Meaning, if the right wheel travels on the bumpy road then it will vertically move up & down without affecting the other wheel. The right wheel will move independently. Both the wheels will have separate axles.
As the name suggests, it consists of 2 wishbones which are also called as control arms or A-arms ( as seen from the top view, they resemble the shape of letter 'A' ).
The upper arm is usually smaller in length as compared to the lower one. The whole strut assembly is mounted on these links. A knuckle is also mounted which provides support to the wheel hub, bearing and axle via a kingpin joint.
Double Wishbone Suspension provides negative camber and makes the vehicle ride stable and comfortable.
The various parameters like camber angle, caster angle, kingpin inclination, scrub radius can be altered in this type.
