On both the Desert Monster and Magnet RC cars the Dog Bones fall out all the time.
This is an attempt to replace the frequently lost dogbone linkage with a 3d print.
Designed to be printed in PET and ~ 3-4 walls, 50% infill, 0.4mm noz
1.5mm piano wire cut down to ~ 8mm length was used for the for the pins at the end of the dog bones. these holes will be uber snug and will require being tapped in with a hammer.
The part is designed to be snug, so a tiny bit of sanding may be needed especially at the ball ends. With wear, the part will loosen, Due to this I do not advise shrinking the part for a better early fit.
These are not quite as low friction as the original metal ones, so if you have a metal one on one side and a printed one on the other, the slip differential will take the path of least resistance, so its best if you are going to replace with these printed ones to do both the left and right of the same axel.
The pins at the ends are in parallel, due to print grain I do not advise turning the hole of one horizontal as that would put the shear load on the grain and part failure will be likely. if you want to reduce friction a little by having the ball end pins perpendicular, I have been tinkering with heating the dogbone with a hot air gun and then carefully twisting over the entire length.
