CET3D designed an amazing DIY seven speed H-gate shifter, I was so excited to make this for my motion simpit. I enjoy iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2 and others. But other than racing games I also enjoy Euro Truck Simulator so I designed a simple button box for two SPDT switches (12mm mounting hole 23mm total length from flush) for CET3Ds design. This box can probably be used with any shifter so I included the SolidWorks files, feel free to remixed them to fit your own shifter. Included is the box and a bracket for a 10mm tube which carries the wires, just tidies up the build. a bit.
On the original the knob mount hole came out at 10mm for some reason so I bored out the knob and drove in an 8mm rivet nut, this works perfect. My shift knob is a little rough as I did not include a support structure while printing it.
Since I am in the United States finding the correct size PVC pipe would be problematic so I chucked a 4" pipe (cut to 4.875") on my metal lathe and turned down the outside and inside to fit the parts. Painted with a rattle can and the body sleeve was finished.
