System Introduction video

News Update:
The whole system has know been updated to the much more capable ESP32 processor. This has required us to order new motherboards for the project which are estimated to arrive before 15th April 2021. Since this is very soon any orders we receive know will not be processed until it can be supplied with the new motherboard. Ordering know will however ensure you reserve a kit from the current supply.
This project is still under development and I am working hard to make it as professional a system as possible. To this end please be sure to down load the most up to date model files before you start printing as things may have changed.
Slider Updates include
1) Processor upgraded from RF-Nano to much more capable ESP32
2) The Nextion display is no longer tied to the slider but is WIFI connected to all parts of the system and can be moved around to suit your working preference.
3) Improved carriage locking mechanism
4) New lower carriage timing belt arrangement allowing easier belt tensioning.
Pan Tilt Head
The Pan tilt head is ready for release and all I am waiting for is the new ESP32 motherboards.
The following improvement's have been made since the first video introduction was made.
1) The pan tilt head now uses a 1:50 gearbox on the Tilt which will allow it to move heavier camera setups.
2) The pan motor has been enlarged also to allow for heavier setups.
3) The head now has an RJ45 port for the forth coming Focus motor.
Video Turntable
The video turntable has had a complete redesign and is know just as capable but smaller more compact than the previous design. Significantly it can also be used mounted to the slider as a simple Pan head. This will also be available for download before the end of April.
The Focus Motor
The focus motor design has progressed a lot and is just awaiting a custom pcb board before it can be released probably some time in June.
The DigitalBird Duel action Camera slider the first component of a complete wireless motion control system offering a host of features typically only found on commercially manufactured units costing thousands of dollars. The complete system will consist of the slider , Pan Tilt head and Focus motor all wirelessly linked. Other than your 3D printed parts you will also require the appropriate component's kits available here:
Component Kits : https://digital-bird-motion-control.myshopify.com

The kits are all plug and play no need to get involved in any soldering.
Features:
• Intuitive flip up TFT colour Touch display (Now a remote display)
• Duel or single action slide
• Two way Wireless communication with the DigitalBird
Pan Tilt Head. (Coming very soon)
• Hot swappable Sony NP style batteries
• Limit switch for automatic setup
• Vertical lifting capability (Dependant on payload)
• Super silent stepper drivers provide smooth quiet
operation in micro stepping mode.
• Magnetic encoder allows hand positioning of the camera.
• Locking mechanism for ease of transportation.
• Compact mono rail with no belts in open space to snag.
• Flip out feet for speedy setup in single action slide mode
Operating modes:
• A-B straight run
• A-B with acceleration controls (ramp/Ease)
• A-B-A Bounce mode
• Timelapse mode with built in intervalometer and camera shutter control
(Other modes to follow with future development)

COMMING SOON: Part2 -The DigitalBird Pan/Tilt head
The DigitalBird Pan/Tilt head will be part2 of this system and is very close to completion.
The head can communicate wirelessly with the slider and will be capable of moving at least a 2KG payload which is well within the range of most DSLR setups you might commonly use on a slider. The head will be capable of all the same functionality available on the slider including acceleration control. The first batch of PCB boards have been ordered and the head will be available here as soon as the kits can be assembled.
Part 3
Is the Digital Bird Cinematic Turntable wirelessly linked and programable with the system
The turntable can know also be used as a simple Pan head attached to the slider.
Part 4 will be the DigitalBird focus motor. This has now bean designed and only awaits a custom pcb board before release.
Disclaimer:
In terms of software this will continue to develop with some additional controls and features on the way. However be warned this project is still under development. There will undoubtable be bugs in the system along the way which I will work hard to overcome given a little time and hopefully a little help from the community.
If parts have revision's I will add the part to the list with a revision on the end V1.1, V1.2 etc. Older revisions will remain on file for those who may still need them but if you are working fresh only print the part with the highest revision.
