Update posted as separate thing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:387134
This is my work in progress (perhaps excessively robust) delta printer design. Most parts are in version 1, although I've designed a little more than I've posted so far and have the majority of the construction sitting on my desk for development purposes. I will add to this post as I refine the design.
Note: the currently posted models are not intended for 3D printing (and half the parts are missing anyway!). These models have been bundled into blocks to be used in OpenSCAD for animation only. Once I'm happy with a sufficient number of the parts to actually make a printer to this design, I'll post individual files and instructions. The files posted are actually my inverse kinematics test for my unconventional delta printer joints in the form of an OpenSCAD animation.
I will add to this thing as I have working parts, so if interested, keep an eye out.
A near current state of development can be seen in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za5Z9-ACVQw As it turns out, I did have some plastic warp due to the heat from the stepper motors but was too drunk at the time of filming to notice! This issue has been (hopefully) solved.
Recent additions:
Clamps for a 280 mm diameter glass build plate using foldback clips and latch mechanism. This was developed to avoid having any plastic in contact with a bed that will ultimately be heated.
Pen holder to plot a test pattern. 10 mm came out damn close to 10 mm in both axes and across the build plate considering I've not carefully measured rod lengths or aligned my endstops yet! :D
