I have a custom-designed Kossel mini, and was getting frustrated when some prints weren't coming out the way I'd expected. So I used 626Pilot's Dimension Accuracy Calibration, but when I printed the 50mm block, I found that the dimensions in one direction were different from the other direction.
This probably meant that my rods, which are adjustable, were not the same length. My first passes were to take the 50mm block, rotate by 120 degrees (for each tower), print and measure again. This gives an indication as to which rod set may be off, and how to adjust them (lengthen or shorten) in order to try it again.
The calibration process is still under way, but I decided to respin the 50mm block to have tower markings, and have three separate pieces. Measuring across the block from the side the tower number above the 50mm marking will indicate whether the rods need to be adjusted.
