NOTE: some of the parts had to be sanded down before they would fit. I will try and list which parts, and how, here. I'd fix the files, but my time is too limited by engineering school.
For this part;
deck_1_wall_middle_left will need sanding down where it meets deck_1_wall_middle_right.
EDIT: here's a link to a collection with all the parts.https://www.thingiverse.com/Sakari_the_machine_maker/collections/ork-deff-trukk
I would also suggest you use the cinder blocks found in part 10 to hold up the base parts. Just print a few of them and use them to hold up and keep level the various parts.
Btw, if anyone actually builds this and paints it, could you post it on here, in the "I made this" section? I can't tell you how much it would mean to me and how proud it would make me feel.
Also of note:
All parts are done using mm, not inches.
Summary:
When a bunch of deffguns find a pair of basilisks, they dragged the things back to a big mek to turn into a deffgun. While the boyz were arguing about who got to wear the thing, the Big Mek had an idea. After smacking a few of them around, he told them what he was going to do. He was going to turn the guns into a Deff Trukk. A Trukk made to carry the two guns around. The guns themselves were going to be modded to be fully automatic and belt fed. The orks were happy enough with the idea and the thing was built.
In the end, the Big Mek couldn't figure out how to aim the things, so he just added a crane to the back that would lift the front end of the barrels.
I previously designed this because I just wanted to design something orky. After I was half way through, the idea came to me to design a game mod around it. Essentially it would be called Caravan mode. One side would have a mega vehicle that they would need to defend, while the other side would need to blow it up. Due to its size, the vehicle can't be destroyed from the outside. This means you'll need to board it and attack some weak point. I even started to come up with separate vehicles for each of the races, basing them around the race themes.
Examples being; Imperial guard would have a heavily armored and defended land train,
The space marines would have a drop-pod base, and the Tyranids would have some kind of mega-organism that converts the atmosphere into something that suits them better. There would also be different set-ups for each. Examples for that would be like the ork trukk having a design for Deffgunz, Meganobz, Burna boyz, kommandoz and storm boyz. Each design being based around the unit its named after, but all sharing some base design.
Edit; things aren't going well, so I've not had time to invest in finishing the main gun. I have files designed and have printed most of it, but I've not tested all the parts. Normally I don't like the idea of posting files I haven't made and tested myself (barring the crane base, which I didn't even know was messed up).
But otherwise, I don't see myself finishing a polished product for the main gun any time soon. So I went ahead and posted a WIP version of the gun.
WORD OF WARNING FOR PRINTING,
Many of the part files came out in incorrect positions for printing. As is, I designed the parts to be printed with a flat base to the part and archways for any overhanging places. An example can be seen in Wall_front_right. For some reason, the file came out with the part upside down. In this position, the printer would be unable to print the part without messing things up and attempting to print on thin air. So instead, you'd need to flip the part in your printing program, so that the large flat surface is on the print bay floor and the archway seen in the part interior is right side up. That way, the printer will have something to print on.
More often than not, if the print doesn't lay flat on the print bay floor, something is wrong.
... exception being parts base_c and base_d, which have to be printed ont their side. They are still to be printed on their flat face... it's just that the part shape makes it so the only flat surface is one of the thin edges. It's the thicker edge, by the way, not the edge with a portion cut away for the wall to sit on.
If I can figure out how to flip the parts on my own, I will. But I also am knee deep in classes right now.
If any clerification is needed for any further parts, Just comment.
