In 1966 when time for the USAF Aeromedical CX-X proposal came DC-9 Aerodynamics at Douglas Long Beach was busy recording and calculating performance data from flight tests. They gave me a Flight manual for a -10 and eventually for a -20 and -30. For the actual proposal I got assistance from Sales Engineering based on their cross plot data they used with airline customers. The only more recent data I used to construct this model from memory was a floor plan to help me locate windows. The flight manuals I was given at this time were Commercial and did not meet any applicable Mil-Spec. This was possible as the C-5A?CX-HLS scandal after being built to the new Systems Engineering Specifications AFM-375-5 had led to any newer procurements being done to the earlier AFR-310-1.
