I bought three of these [Link below] at Hobby Lobby and screwed them together with corner brackets. I then designed the inserts and hot glued them in the slots. If possible, I suggest you go in store and take measurements of each slot. I had 4 slots of odd sizes from a manufacturer defect and had to custom fit the inserts (An alternative is using a lot of glue to fill a large gap). I have attached odd/smaller size files, they should help in most of these cases. The small gaps on the bottom help move the inserts into place, allow for more storage, and prevent items like caps from getting stuck in the slot.
Here are the designs
Normal sized inserts 5.1 x 2.8 inches
Copic Sketch Insert, fits 30
Pencil & Eraser Insert, fits quite a few
Winsor & Newton Insert (Also fits large pens), fits 18
Colored Pencil Insert large, fits 52
Pen Insert, fits 45
Defect inserts 5.1 x 2.7 inches
Copic Sketch Insert Small, fits 24
Colored Pencil Insert small, fits 30
The drawer in the image above was designed to fit an extreme defect so it has not been added.
It should be pretty easy to take the files and adjust the sizes. In the future I may design more inserts.
