After searching for good 12864 case, i found some cases, but no one is perfect enough for my new Smartrap Core case.
I decided to design a new one for my 12864 display. I have first before http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:855134, but it has too much holes for screws (front and back) so it's not good design.
Mine is designed for RRD 12864 display. I bought it from Miniinthebox site as whole package with Arduino controller and all parts for Smartrap Core case planned build.
You see in first picture the front example where i can place the 12864 case. The printer design itself has 30x30x30 printsize. The case is screwed in 12mm MDF wood at both sides. You see at back 4 sides where you can screw it in MDF panels.
(The real printer is still in progress - so real photos will added later)
The case is simplified so you can just insert the 12864 RRD panel inside the front piece. The back piece will keep the display tight on the place.
Don't forget cut the selection knob a bit, to make sure it will fit in the hole at the front.
A small piece "stop" knob must inserted first before you put the 12864 panel inside.
You need 4x 3x20mm screws to fix the backplate.
Not sure other 12864 panels will fit, because exactly measured thickness inside case. But RRD version should fit in most cases.Compared to some 12864 cases, mine keep the display part inside, it will not stick out!
The Smartrap Core design is here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:651117
Watch the photos so you can understand how you can make one yourself.
