CURA definitions for Flashforge Creator 3
I did not find CURA settings and definitions for the Flashforge Creator 3 on the internet, and i miss a lot of features in the Flashprint - Slicer. Consequently i had to create my own CURA profile.
I found a Flashprint Creator Pro profile from user Eugr and updated it with new start and endcodes, head positions, size and extruder definitions.
Installation:
Copy the files in folders 'definitions' and 'extruders' to the fitting folders in
C:\Users...your user...\AppData\Roaming\cura\ (...your cura version...)
Start CURA and add printer (Flashforge -> Creator 3)
Features:
--> Both extrudes work nicely in single and dual mode.
--> 2nd Printer definition for passively heated chamber for ABS, Nylon etc.
Creates .gcode files that my Flashforge Creator 3 accepts and prints flawlessly. You dont have the preview on the touchscreen as the .gx files from flashforges flashprint show.
Start and end codes mostly transplanted from a flashprint - slice.
Room for improvement:
Not a problem, but strange effect: In dual extrusions temperatures of both nozzles intermeditely equalise. CURA sets a M104 S... without T1 or T0, so T0 extruder is interpreted by the printer causing a heat up of T0 even when printing with T1 only. See Comments for details.
Please add comments if you find any unusual behaviour.
Other:
Flashforge, please open up you ecosystem, and provide CURA setting and open source-plattforms on your printers. You will sell more of your excellent machines. Dont lock up.
