3d models to match to the terrain in the Cruel Seas boxed set. Could also be used for Black Seas. There are beaches, a large island either whole, halves or in four parts which could also be used as game board edge shore terrain etc.
The island piece was a scanned island someone did resized and chopped up etc. The beaches are also pieces of real terrain scans, much chopped down.
I'll eventually add some rocks/shoals and stuff as I get them designed up.
Note - I put up new beach files. I haven't printed them yet but they should have better geometry and flatter bottoms etc. Hopefully they will print better. If they do I'll put some photos up.
[Edit] They still didn't print well. I think Rafts or supports might have fixed it. Pretty sure the issue is the geometry on the bottom of the beaches etc. I stopped the print and simply patched up what I could salvage with putty. The end result from a model standpoint is very good - not so much from a printing standpoint though.
I also added a couple of 'cliffside' files. This is to address the occasional scenario that uses a quarter of the island as an island on its own. If you did that with a cut 3d piece you'd have this weird flat side which would look really ugly so I figured I'd make some 'cliff sides' by creating a file with the island quarter much reduced in one axis. Not sure how this will work yet, it's an experiment. If it works I will likely have to make smaller bits to 'cliff' each part of the island, meaning a cliff island would still be four pieces but three of them would be very thin. Still thinking about this as maybe for these it would be better to make them one piece?
