In fact there is nothing special, it is just a mix of the Dactyl-Manuform and Ergodox ideas, with a spoonful of Let's Split added.
(PS. Wrong, it is a truckload of goodies from Let's Split. The electronic part is actually taken completely from that board, the wiring, the serial connection of two chips, the firmware, and the very idea of a slim compact split keyboard of course. I do have that board, and the only thing I found missing was the thumb cluster. So one may consider my version as a remix of Let's Split.)
From Dactyl-Manuform I accepted the relative position of the columns, that the pinky should be almost half-row lower than the index finger while middle and ring fingers - about 3/4th and 1/2nd higher. Also the experience with its thumb cluster allowed to leave four switches in there, plus two keys for the modifiers in the middle and the ring finger columns. That is this is the minimal but sufficient layout for me.
From Let's Split I take the idea of two independent halves, connected via TRRS cable, with ProMicro in each half. And the very idea of the nice thin portable split board itself too: I do like the one I have but miss the thumbcluster and struggle with the pinky columns.
UPD 20181007: Added a photo with the current keycaps. The original looked nice, but the profile was not as good as I thought, so I replaced it with the regular profile set (SA, DSA? whatever.) With these caps it is quite close to the end game.
UPD 20181007-2: the "Crocodox" name derived from the definition of "Green and flat", from here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irc0gs2l7ao
The antagonist calls the protagonist "Зелёный и плоский" (the green and flat in Russian), so he can pull a trick on the others.
The board case looked like the crocodile from that cartoon, hence the name.
(Yes, something may be lost in translation, why should I even care explaining?)
