This part was designed to decrease heatbed vibrations by the means of increasing the overall torsion strenght of the bed holder. The z-axis space will not be decreased, since it just wraps around the bearings.
The part is placed over the z-axis bearings and screwed in place with the bearing screws. The z-axis space will not be decreased, since it just wraps around the bearings. The parts are interconnected via m5 srew. At bearing side you can insert m5 scres and tighten them against the z axis bearing. Also m5 screws and nuts are inserted vertically in the corresponding holes. To increase tension to the headbed holder you can A) use the screws to adjust tightness B) attach some layers of duct tape between heatbed holder and stiffeners.
Also make sure to tighten the headbed hight adjustment srews nearly all the way and just leave little space for adjusting, since this already decreases heatbed oszillations significant.
The screwholes have been designed a little bit to tight, so you can bore them in post processing.
Unfortunately after testing, I found this didnt decreases heatbed oszillations as expected. Did a static test, where a random heavy object (1382g) has been blaced on the heatbed and measured the deflection without (47.08mm - 45.99mm = 1.09mm) and with headbed stiffeners attached (48.49mm - 47.53mm = 0.96mm).
However heatbed seems realy rigid right now. Now it seems, that z coupler and z axis motor holder are some sources of heatbed flex.
