I modified the very good idea from stevenfayers who created a new base plate for the Creality CR10 control box.
Check out the original thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2838150
My modifications:
complete redesign from scratch, but kept the idea of the legs and the fan housing
new middle leg for increased stability (mine was a little instable, maybe I used the wrong settings)
rotated the Raspberry Pi mounting so the connectors facing backwards now. This looks better in my opinion and helps with cable organisation.
didnt made some holes for the Pi and the optional step down because I dont need them. My Pi is always on because I switch the power for the printer with it. This increases air flow inside the case
The picture above is my second version. I reduced some parts so you need lesser material to print. Also this makes it faster. I used PLA but ABS could be better.
Update:
The base plate is working just fine and the 120mm fan draws enough airflow so all components are cool. I left the interiour fan connected but this one is should not be necessary. I original screws are too short so I simply used the ones from the filament mounting. They fit quite well and are easy to mount without a tool.
Update 2.1:
The main plate is now 4mm thick from 2mm in the original design. This should be more stable. I also got rid of the last fan for the board as this one is not necessary. For better airflow I taped the bottom air holes on the left side of orginal case so that the air blows only from the top holes. Works very good and didnt had any problems with some prints lasting more that 24h.
