Just realized I didn't correct the print orientation on the updated model. Should be fixed now.
Update Added an updated sensor holder with a 6mm offset to bring the filament away from the Z-screw.
Sick and tired of the default filament run out sensor on the CR10S printers? Me too.
So, I spent most of a friday brainstorming and designing this mount. It doesn't use the Z-axis nut screws to secure it like the other mounts that I've seen. This mount snaps onto the Z-axis guide wheel shaft and locks onto the X-axis motor.
The 2 main pieces pivot and lock together with 2 m4 Screws. The sensor cover attaches with 2 m3 screws. Once you assemble all three pieces with the sensor the whole unit can be snapped on your machine in seconds with no tools.
I coupled this with the filament guide wheel that I designed for top mounting my spool.
