Update 6/24/18:
New waveshare 4" screen parts are uploaded and ready. 2 new options: either swap out your current screen for a 4" waveshare, or upgrade to the double stack case and use both the 4" waveshare with rpi and reprap screen! i know a lot of you wont need either of these, but im using them and i made these modifications, so i figured maybe someone else could use them. And yes there is a place to put the little stylus that comes with the screen.... I also made a slot in the side for picam cables. so, enjoy!
COMING SOON!!!
Im installing a waveshare 4" HDMI IPS touchscreen and raspberry pi on my cr-10 and ill be adding a couple of parts to my case design. I'm planning to make both a singular display module and one for my double stacked case that will allow both the printers graphical screen as well as the raspberrypi and touchscreen. Im thinking about doing a pi serial to arduino serial connection, but if its not going to work i'm working on a way to get usb to remain internal while still giving access to the pi's ports, that is if i can work it all out. Stay Tuned!!!
Updated : 6/3/18
Added parts for adding a second psu. I upgraded my controls to 24v. this meant an expensive upgrade for my heated bed, unless i used my old 12v psu to power the bed. so instead i just printed a seperate case. not completely satisfied with the 4 part case design i also made a matching bottom for my case to make it easier to wire everything up. so now there are even more options. I intend to add another front in the future that will house my raspberry pi and maybe even a screen for it so i added ghost holes in the front of the add on case that can be knocked or drilled out later to add on the new front case if/when i ever design it.
I changed out nearly every part of my controls. I kept the original psu and thats about it. I started out with an MKS-TFT 3.2 but scrapped it for the reprap full graphic display because it was using up too much of seial line bnandwidth. My new setup has fystech tmc2130 drivers in spi mode so i needed actve cooling for the stepper drivers. this case has dual 40mm fans to do the job. a third 40mm fan is used to cool off the bed mosfet unit, which is the typical no name black pcb mosfet yoy find everywhere. so no need for a rear facing fan as it would just clutter up the box. I moved the wire inlet hole from the bottom to the top corner for easier wiring. The original psu doesnt line up witht the holes in old or new case, and i really didnt care to change that after i got everything else the way i wanted it. I have included 3 different screen designs. the orignal fro the reprap, one that works with the cr10 screen, and one for the mks-tft if anyone needs it. feel free to mix and match parts from this and the original case design.
