Cohen the Barbarianby Stephen Hamacek/Hammersbased on the character created by Terry Pratchett
and the illustrations by Paul KidbyBarcelona rooftops ibl texture is from [http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html] CC BY NC SAI made this character rig as an exercise in medium-poly modelling, texturing and
rigging, for an educational project. It is fan art, but I thought I may as well share it in case it's interesting
to anyone. I wouldn't say it's optimised for production, but I've found it quite usable andfun anyway. You can see some animations I did with him here:The first tests, as a title sequence concept for a fictional game, without cloak etc.:
[https://youtu.be/REAuOu7ZfFw]Cycle and action animations, and a matchmove integration animation (at the end of my showreel):

start at about 2:30 to skip straight to it. Or just watch it all :)The character has been set up with the Pitchipoy rigify setup, so there are facial controls.
I've used the standard rigify arms and legs from memory, to allow for easier IK/FK snapping.
But this has confused some of the rig layer naming. I'll reupload if I get around to fixing this. There are also extra bones for his beard, main sword/scabbard, and the sword belts. i tried using
dynamics on these but it was a PITA. As is, you will get a fair amount of animation 'for free' on
the scabbards. There is an IK adjustment bone on each side and a front and back pole target for the
straps, for tweaking. The necklace has a rigid body dynamic system on it that works pretty well in general (see vids). The cloak should work ok for cloth sim, but the cloth sims in my video were done in Houdini, as an
exercise in learning that system a bit. (And despite the pipeline, I found it a lot easier tbh)Texturing mostly done in 3D-coat, in an attempt at PBR workflow. Because I've used UDIM mapping in
Blender the textured and material viewport modes don't work that well I've found.Hope you like him and let me know if you use him for anything! s dot hamacek at gmail dot com Cheers!
