Using Tinkercad I designed this thing to connect an 80mm fan to my 3018 CNC so I can evacuate the smoke from laser engraving up 3" flexible ducting I purchased at Home Depot to the ceiling exhaust fan in my man-cave (or you could just as easily stick the exhaust end out a window). This allows me to engrave wood right at my desk with no smell or smoke issues.
I believe the X/Z carriage is the same for the 1610/2418 and possibly other cheap Chinese CNC machines as it is for my 3018 so it should fit these other machines.
The frame snaps over the mounting spacers holding the Z axis stepper motor, it is a tight fit but there is a clip at the back for a cable-tie just to make sure it doesn't come off if something interferes with the duct's movement during engraving.
The angle of the fan-frame is adjustable with notches integrated into the joint to lock it into place. The plastic bolt may not survive the test of time but I didn't happen to have a long enough M5 bolt lying around (60mm min). This may need to be replaced with a metal bolt and wing nut/printed nut at some point.
There are a couple of funky corners, this is just me learning how best to handle rounded corners in Tinkercad, I needed this fan finished so they have been officially categorized as "good enough" :)
This works with my Eye Protection thing:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2984605
If you need to adapt to flexible ducting of a different dimension I recommend:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1015874
