Many flagship classes of starships have a smaller craft that is a little less powerful that serves as a support craft. the Galaxy class had the nebula class the constitution class had the miranda class and the exelsior the souz. just releasd from top secret in starfleet headquarters is the chimera class. it served as a support craft to the promethius. New weaponry derived from romulan, borg, and dominion starships gives the chimera class the destinction to be a testbed of transwarp conduit rearch, tachipn drive, weapons systems and energy generation devices. The chimera was built to devide into 3 parts the 'Snake'(mounted above the saucer) the 'Ram'(engineering hull) and the 'Lion'(saucer) these are fully functioninh starships in their own right, they can respectively reach warp 7.1(using vulcan warp nacelles) warp 9.998 and warp 8.4. the phasers are quantum meanig that instead of being one continuou stream of energy it is like a machine gun and fires hordes of short staccato beams a the same time. on the Snake and Lion the re are pulse phasers on the pods on eitherside of the hull these 'shark pods' can detach and be used as runabouts limeted to warp 3 on the underbelly of the lionthere are two small ships theseare the also similar to runabouts exept they are more heavily armed. this ship has a plethora of other inovative armaments that are not mentioned here like turbophasers disruptor arrays subspace disruptors multiple shuttlebays and a tachion incursion generator #assault_starship #chimera #escort #goat #lion #milti #nacelle #phaser #pulse_phaser #quantum_hellfire #sharkpods #snake #subspace_distorter #tachion #turbophasers #vector
