Behold the mighty ChamPod: a canopy for your busted Armattan Chameleon bottom plate. Here's a stiffness test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-qgTObsTEw
Print in TPU with 2 perimeters and about 15-20% 3D infill (I prefer Gyroid). With supports, obviously. Top and bottom: 8 layers each. 0.2-0.3mm layer height. It's a long print and the result weighs about 20g.
"But why?"
because you have a busted Chameleon bottom plate that is still somewhat usable
you might need a backup racer, so why not take the chance?
and because this is fun, in a nerdy way
Important: Flying the frame like this voids your Armattan warranty! Yes, I checked. Proceed at your own risk.
Mounting:
The canopy is mounted on the frame backwards - what was the front of the frame (where the FPV camera was mounted), is now the back.
You will also need four 20mm M3 standoffs for the "new back". You will need to drill out the M2 screw holes where the standoffs go to fit an M3 screw through it.
For securing the canopy to the frame, you will need 10 M3 screws, 2 nuts and a couple of zip ties.
