I designed and printed this so I would have a device that pushes back on the throttle when you push it into WEP mode. Since many planes in IL2 have engines that will be damaged when running at Wartime Emergency Power for more than a minute I needed something to make sure I never accidentally leave it there in the heat of battle.
I attached it with 2 8/32 stud posts (one side machine screw the other threaded, bought at ACE hardware) and wingnuts for easy adjustment.
As built it is tuned for a BF109 F4, but will work with other planes by adjusting the base for or aft. If needed for a really long throw you could modify the plunger shaft length in Blender.
In Cura the STL needed to be resized +1000%,
I printed this with Cura using a .6 nozzle and .16 layer height. The base unit I rotated forward to put the small hole end down for minimal supports required as pictured.
I purchased the spring on Amazon in a kit https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RXV6WH2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I used the SPB 10001 spring in the kit.
