The Municipality of Centre Hastings celebrated the official opening of their new Municipal Building and Council Chambers on Furnace St. in the Village of Madoc, Ontario on Friday, August 27, 2010. Building of the new offices was made possible in part by the federal and provincial governments through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund. The total budget for the building came in at $945,000 with $630,000 being split equally by the Ontario and Canadian governments. The Infrastructure Stimulus Funding was provided by 3 levels of government represented by MP Daryl Kramp, Reeve Tom Deline and MPP Leona Dombrowsky as they held the ribbon while Doug Parks performed the official cutting. Also in attendence for the official opening were: Council members Deputy Reeve Tom Simpson, Councillor Dave Schulz, Councillor Shelby Kramp-Neuman, Councillor Mike Kerby, Clerk Matt MacDonald, Treasurer Bonnie Jones.
