Central purchased 30 Boeing 707-339 Intercontinental aircraft in 1959. The first were delivered in late 1960. All were later upgraded to 707-339B and 707-339B Adv standards. In addition, 15 707-339B and 20 707-339 Adv aircraft were also ordered. N70025 was delivered to Central in 1961 as a Boeing 707-339 Intercontinental. It was upgraded to a 707-339B in 1962 and futher upgraded to 707-339B Adv standards in 1967. It was transferred from its New York to London route in 1975 to the Mexico City to Guatemala City route, being repainted orange (color for the Latin American routes). It was retired in 1983 and replaced by a Boeing 757-239 and sold to V2 Airlines, which operated it until 1996. N70025 was sold to the US Air Force and scrapped in 2002, after being salvaged for JT3D engines and parts that could be used on KC-135 aircraft. #707 #707320 #707320B #707339 #707339B #Adv #Advanced #Air #Boeing #Central #Lines #N70025
