In 1960, Central Air Lines had just recently aquired several 707 jetliners and was transitioning into the Jet Age. Central's partner, American Airlines not only aquired 707 jetliners but was to also aquire the CV-990 Coronado. After some encouraging from American and some thought, Central placed an order for 3 CV-990 Coronado aircraft. In 1962, all three were delivered as CV-990A Coronados and were placed under Central's new experimental Transonic service called the Speedline Service. By 1968, the CV-990A had ultimately failed to gain profit for Central and all three were retired in 1969, thus ending Central's short lived Speedline Service. #Air #Airlines #Central #Convair #Coronado #CV990 #CV990A #Lines #N403A
